Old style Sanke coming back?

Old style Sanke coming back? This Sanke, has the Jimbei characteristics....It was breed by Momotaro, my question is....would this be a Sanke you would buy knowing your water was super hard and more sumi was to come...or...would you be more concerned about overall quality maintaining itself on this fish.

I wouldn't buy it based on my water for sure. I'd have to put it in my larger pond and I'm just not happy with the water quality.....plus thats gotta cost waaayyy too much for me.

A nice example of a Showa Sanke.

Way to much black for me. I have to say the quality of the fish is excellent but it already has to much black-more? No way.

Seems like my last 2 trips to Japan I have seen this style a bit more. I am not sure if I never seen it or just haven't payed that much attentin to it.

coming from a newbie, I would say it has quite a bit more sumi than I would like... I prefer small dots of sumi over the hi... but, not sparce ones, or small ones... just... less...

around the head region of this fish is a good example... sumi that size, spread out over the body in an asthetically pleasing/balanced way... (but not much more sumi than is on the head, maybe 2 more little patches)

I personally like the heavy sumi. Of course...have to worry if much more were to develop. This is my heavy sumi sanke. It will be fun to watch the development...but may have a very DARK future.

I would love to have that fish and don't care what the future is - it's stunning right now. Probably looks good without the Photoshop too.

What catches and pleases my eye is roughly equal amounts of red, black and white with each color in fairly large plates (plates may not be the right word except when referring to hi). If the sumi is small dots, there is never enough coverage and it appears too "busy". I would rather it be a kohaku than a sanke with dots.

But, those who know better tell me I select for sanke which are much too dark.
