I noticed that the limits of the excavation almost reach your house walls.
Isn't that a problem? I heard that excavations must be carried out at least several meters (not sure if it was 4 meters) away from the house foundations...

yes diego, you might right about it. First time i dig out, it became quite slow when near the border of the existing construction of my house. Once reach it, I make first layer of bricks concrete and the second layer was concrete of K325 hardness which to prevent any trouble to the existing foundations base of my house.

Talking

Hi Monscine ,

I remember that we discussed the pond system only .. Not the discotheque lamp ..
I'm a bit shock after saw your pond's photo.

Seems you really know how to mix your pleasure of koi and music .

My suggestion put a hifi system : Kharma loudspeakers + Audio Aero cd player + tube amps near your pond.. this will more perfect .

Invite me when you throw a party !

Cheers,
Riwin

First of all Nice pond and layout.. First time I clicked on this thread. I think that qualifies as one of my dream ponds.

Carolyn, I could be wrong but I think copper leaches out on a heater only and not on the chiller. It but could be small but not deadly amounts.

If that is what you were reffering too

Joe

Not Carolyn... but

I would have chimed in on this a few weeks ago, but somehow I missed the thread. (Kick-ass pond by the way )
Copper is toxic to Koi, and although it leaches into water faster at high temperatures it may leach enough over time at low temps to be a health issue. In your case, running a Bakki Shower may negate any problems if you are following the 5-10% daily water changes they recommend.
In any case it would be adviseable to have the water tested for copper on a monthly basis just to be on the safe side.
If your tests begin to show a build-up of copper, you might consider changing the submerged heat exchange coils from copper to Stainless Steel beverage tubing. It is easily coiled, thin walled, and is commonly used for food grade refrigeration service.
