I too got a bunch of ding-dong bells and blinky lights from that book. Many "things to be held TRUE" in there. And so, the book stays by my bed. Thanks Waddy. But, such a stagnant guy I am; I still can't appreciate Koi2Kichi the same way.

I was just the person who mailed it, Bob is the only one you need to thank.. Now I think you need to read this book, a few times.. you will be able to grasp, much more information that way.. I do hope you enjoy it, I have the original hard cover copy, and it is one of my most prized books. I also enjoyed koi2kichi very much, but I think that is because my fish is in it.. LOl Serious koi2kichi will be an excellent book for you much later. First you need to fully understand and take that understanding and use it. Start visiting other dealers, and learn the difference in quality, every dealer carries the quality that they can sell. Some dealers have higher end hobbiest who buy from them, so naturally they carry a higher quality fish. You need to be able to understand the differences, and the only way to do that is to go to as many dealers as possible, and see with your own eyes. This is the perfect time of year for these exercises, as all the dealers in Northern and Southern California will be bringing in alot of new koi.

I cannot thank anyone enough!!!!
I am surprised that most of the filtration were so simple... Waddy said he has only cleaned his pond 2 times within the last 5 years..that is definetly how a pond should be, everything in that book is great!
I will definetly use that filtration set up for my future pond when I grow up.
I couldnt believe that the sanke that waddy purchased from a dealer in japan, sakai-san said he had to purchase the fish, and he did and everything fell apart, the fish totally lost all its fins, and scales due to sunburn and lack of shade. Then He throws the fish in the pond to die? who is this man again???? HAHAHHA, Leaves it in the pond for 18 months???? WHAT!!!!!!!
He finally drains the pond and pulls out a tricycle in the pond...wow....I guess everyone has their flaws, LOL JK
HIS fish grew all its scales and fins back, its color better than before!!! Wow!
And it wins Best in size sanke??????? WHO IS THIS MAN!!!!!!



I also learned that mastunosuke means Sanke bloodline..COOL!

I learned a lot more, but I dont have a lot of time to post it all

With each book you read it by chapters...when you finish each chapter ask questions in regards to that question. The book is the foundation for hobbyist, as times change so does some of the ways do too. With that in mind we will wait for questions in an organized order young Grasshoppa...
