What's the temperature of your pondwater?

Since the members of KB are living around the world, I was wondering what the temperature of the water in your pond is?

At the moment, the temperature of the water in the pond is 9.5c or 49f.

So what's yours?

I would imagine it's in the range of high 50's F for my pond in the San Jose, California. Will have the exact reading when I return from Maui.

In the 1200 gallon quarantine pond, I have a 1800 Watt Electric Heater, but for the big pond I will be using the 239,000 BTU koi keat Heater. I actually have had it for a while and had it running on the 10k Gallon pond before we moved, and it works well.

Ok so you have a takagi on demand water heater. All the tubes are copper correct? I will have to check that out as it saves a lot of money.

Yes, Takagi. and the pipes in that loop are copper, yes. The Heat exchanger is a very cool one tho...multiple smaller pipes inside it for the water to be split into, with no head loss. If you, or a friend is a good plumber, I could see how one could be built for half the price. I tried it once, and had to hire a plumber to fix my errors.. that was 10 years ago.

Good info Bob thanks for the insight. I really wanna get this going before next spring. By growing season seems to get shorter and shorter.
