not much about the KHV virus lately that I know of.... When Ray Jordan was a chairman of AKCA KHV Research project funding... Ray did a great job for trying to bring KHV awareness to koi people. In additional to that, Ray had helped to raise quite a lot of funding for the research program... We at Koi-bito donated money and Koi-Bito alsow allows the auction site to be used for KHV research which helped to raise around 10K if my memory serves me well.... Some time just wonder what is going on with the research program and it progress as well.....

Yes, we did Tony.... Both San Franciso Koi club and ZNA Norcal helped to raise and donated $800.00 for AKCA KHV Research Funding at ABAKS......
Remember that ZNA NorCal was just one month old at that time and we all helped to make it.... I am so proud of ZNA NorCal...

Project KHV is alive and well and to date has raised over $131,000. Gene Anderson has taken over as head of fundraising. His primary club is the Inland Empire WG and Koi Society. You can contact Gene at koipondman@aol.com SPike Cover is head of the entire project. SPecial Thanks to everyone that has made a contribution. Please consider making another. IF you haven't made a contribution please consider being part of the solution.

Progress is being made on developing a KHV vaccine in many places. Spike Cover just wrote a update on KHV research based on the info available at this time. Isreal, England, Canada, U.S.A. and Japan have one or more research projects for several types of KHV vaccine underway. Up to date information for research projects issketchy at best but there is hope for a vaccine to be available in the U.S. in a few more years.

Project KHV is funding a special targeted in depth education program about KHV that is being develped and will be made avialable in a number of formats in 2007. Also soliciting proposals to develop a Koi Dealer best practices programs in hopes of being able to have a vet based KHV best practices dealer certification program in place in the near future.

To stay informed about the latest KHV information and AKCA Project KHV updates can be found at www.akcaprojectkhv.org

All new contributions to Project KHV should be mailed to:
AKCA Project KHV
P.O. Box 4045
