I feel bad I didn't get a pic of their RGC Showa....it was out of it's tank by the time I arrived at show site Sunday AM. (Hoping someone else got a pic) They took their fish home early because their show features a huge fish auction most all day Sunday, and of course they needed to work it.
Thanks to the two of them and all SAKA members for the wonderful hospitality extended to me!

Yes they are what I would call, the best of the best, in the koi community.
Sorry you did not get a picture of there gin showa, but I know the fish and she is beautiful, if memory serves me correctly it is an Ogata breed showa, they bought her 2 years ago. I think she took GC last year at there show.

You know that show is a good excuse to get some koi in and play some golf.. Maybe next year I will have to make a mini vacation out of it..

Martha & I had a super time in Tucson at their 27th annual show. I guess practice makes perfect and everything from the hospitiality, to the people, to the weather, the entertainment, and of course the koi could not have been nicer. Hats off to Debbie & Dave Young, Tom Ayers, Ribbie & Brian and everyone else that made this such a wonderful experience. Martha and I arrived on Thursday and went for a beautiful hike in the Santa Catalina mountains, visited the famous desert museum, and a few other spots around Tucson. Well worth adding a few extra days when you go to Tucson.

Tom Ayers and Robbie McClenny are takso he seminar chairs for the AKCA seminar in Phoenix the enod of June 2007. Not only is this sure to be one of the best seminars ever but the about of other fun stuff planned is fantastic as well. This is a must attend event for everyone koi kichi.

Got to catch up on a few things now but will post some photos later.

Here are a few photos from the show. I am working on a couple of new seminar presentations so I am mostly focusing on a couple of certain subjects and didn't take the normal champion photo line up.

1st photo = AKCA candidate judges Ray Jordan, Pete Ponzio, Jan Thompson, Head Judge Norm Call and koi handler Scott Thompson
2nd photo = Baby Champion - Size Two Doitsu Sanke
3rd Photo = Norm Call presenting Tom Ayers with GC trophy
4th photo - Norm Call presenting Debby and Dave Young with Reserve Champion Trophy
5th photo = Show Awards which were very very nice
6 &7 = Japanese Drummer Group
#8 = Martha & I hiking up finger rock canyon trail outside of Tucson.

Hi, Bob, my buddy and mentor and friend and hubby of a great gal!! Yea, it is always good to be back in town. Today is actually nice and warm, huh? I brought some weather home with me for you.

First kohaku is GC, you are correct. Although not a good pic, the Young Champ is the sanke in next pic. I see that Ray had a fairly good pic of Baby Champ. I will post some more that I have but not the best.

These pics: l to r: Baby Champ, tank of misc koi, next 2 are the Japanese drummers,
next 2 pics are the Young Champ, then some of filtration at Tom's, me awarding the Baby Champion award to Bryan McCleney, and last (but not least) Scott awarding Tom Ayers the RMKC Friendship Award for a bright yellow ogon.

Thanks Ray! it seems that you have made some frequent flyer mileage this year and have gone and judged many shows. It seems as if there is a show then you and Martha are there. By chance will you be going to the ALL JAPAN?

Thank again for the pics...

Hi Joe,
We were able to make quite a few shows this year. Judged three and showed koi in three others and was also show chairman for our show in San Antonio. Also made several trips to other koi events and gave seminars on Koi History and Buying Baby Koi with Future Potential.

I try to go to Japan every other year. Martha & I were at this years All Japan Show so not planning to go back to Japan intil 2008.
