These two kohakus ware in quarenteen and will be availaqble later this month. I don't know the size, sex, or price yet. I just thought they looked nice. They were bred in Tiawan. Comments please.

They look pretty nice to me. The one on the right looks like it may be a male. I really like the one on the left.

I like both fish. Have they been quarentined and checked for KHV? I would be interested if they have. How big are they? Both the shiro and the beni are outstanding. The one on the right appears to have a growing pattern and will get even better. NICE

The kohaku on the left should do better in the long run. For the kohaku on the right, I'm not sure if it's due to the lighting when the picture was taken, the beni looks hard and may not last.

If I had only these two to pick from, I'd choose the first fish. It rather sucks that one pic is with a flash and the other not, so comparison of colors and skin quality can't be intelligently done, but the koi on the left has the better conformation hands down. Still, if I knew there were other kohaks out there that I hadn't seen yet, I'd wait until I'd perused them before making any chistled-in-stone commitments.

If I had to choose, I would also choose Number 1. She has good conformation, and girth.

Nice Kohaks...textbook show pattern nice white skin and beni. What we have to realize is that the Asian breeders spend alot of money on oyagoi. They dont use substandard quality oyagoi they tend to use Champion Bloodline. When we say oyagoi they use females in the 35-36" size range, so they're fish will grow. I know there is a hobbyist here in San Jose that has a Taiwanese Showa 35" and Sanke 36" and they are only 5 years old.
