New Club NIKK

We're happy to announce a new club in the Pacific Northwest. A group of koi lovers have banded together to form a new organization, North Idaho Koi Keepers, to focus on a mutual love of koi. We plan to continue workshops and education in our area to improve our knowledge and skills in koi keeping. Our new website is under construction but is starting to come together.
www.northidahokoikeepers.com - until that website can be accessed the temporary website is http://nikoikeepers.tripod.com

Some names that might be familiar in this group include
Gene & Phyllis Anderson, Dan & Sharon Olson, Robert & Waunita Fischbach,
Chuck & Alice Harmon, Greg & Judy Linnebach, Bruce Todd, John Miller, John & Nita Mason, Jim Walsh, Kathy Kelly, Dick & Joann Benbow.

We'll try to post the news of our activities as our club develops!!

I wish your club the best of luck. Looking at your list of members says a lot about what a good start you all have.

By the way, is this a ZNA or AKCA club?

Regards

Mike

Congratulations to all involved.

Reading the names involved, this should be a group that will give the existing and newbie KK in the area the chance to aquire more enjoyment and knowledge from our great hobby. And potentially spread the "habit"

I wish NIKK the best of luck.

Mike, we enjoyed another great workshop experience this last Saturday with the announcement NIKK had been officially approved by AKCA. We have an application in for PNKCA for approval and will soon apply to ZNA as well. Lots of club and hobby experience with our members plus some new to the hobby as well. Hope to see you again next fall if not before.

many of this same group, journied last month to NIsei Koi Farm. It was a good chance to see the personalities meld and to be able to envision the comraderie, laughter and desire to learn that each one shared.Amongst our self the name " Nick-key" is used to refer to the club, I think Dan already told the story of our "singing the blues"......our emphasis will be on sharing and acquiring knowledge....

Idaho is a wee bit "cooler" temperature wise than Cali and will bring along with it a different learning curve dealing with the protection of koi issues.

this will be my 3rd club that I have had the priviledge to be listed with the founding fathers and hope to be able to contribute for a short time anyway.
These guys are pretty sharp and then tend to catch on pretty quick.....must be something in the fresh air and pure water........

Glad to see the koi world growing

The universe of koi is growing. I hope many more young people like me, and hopefully better than me will be inspired through your club.

Hi Ray,
thanks for your well wishes....actually I think a show will be down on the list of priorities. Our first emphasis will be to concentrate on attracting members thru a solid schedule of educational speakers and programs. The "first" meeting had the club erecting a cover over the pond of a member. I think these kinds of involvment will build a sense of community among the members that can later be built on to give us a solid base for other endeavors.....
