Gee...is that the first beauty posted or does she have a twin?

That's it Marie, it is definitly a very nice Kohaku. The picture doesn't do it justice.

I think she's quite beautiful.

I'd like to see her at a better angle though. I seem to be developing a prejudice against narrow tail tubes, and can't decide whether I'm seeing that or a full belly that makes the tail look too narrow or one of those odd kinda shots from a more forward angle that makes her appear this way.

Yeah Russ, the pic doesn't do her justice...

I think it is the angle of the Koi in the picture. Just think though, Richard said there wil be another 25 to 40 to look at. This is going to get better.

I'm with Mike

The first one looks to be the better of the two, but... I have the feeling I'm gonna need to wear a bib (to sop up the drool) if there are 2-3 dozen more like these to look at I saw WAAAAAYYYYYYYY too much eye candy in the seine (I'm looking forward to getting a closer look at some of those Sanke too )

Lightbulb *random epiphany*

Hey Richard, any chance your camera does video clips? I'd like to see how the movement of my current residents from you measure up to this batch, and I bet there are a lot of people that would like to see the "presence" of your koi... *nodnodsmile*

Hi Marie, you enjoying yourself? You'll have to do without video. It's only taken me a year to learn how to get decent pictures. I can't imagine how long it would take to figure out how to do a decent MPEG.

This is how I think we should organize this. Every other day or so I'll post a new group of five pics. You and the rest of the forum can decide which of the the group is the best. Then when I've posted the last of the pics there can be a final lineup of the best of the best. We can come to a consensus which fish we think you should pick and then you can tell us which you one you want.

Here are tonight's line up. #1 and #2 are yesterday's fish reshot with proper lighting and in focus. (For reference these pictures were taken with a Sony A-100 with WB set at 5500k. They have not been digitally altered except to rotate, crop and remove debris from the frame)

#1 (Tategoi) Female 16"

#2 Male 16"

#3 Male 16"

#4 (Tategoi) Female 16"

#5 Female 16"
