Super clean c

Hi, many koi keepers here in England use "Izeki super clean c" in their koi ponds in oredr to reduce dissolved organic carbons (DOC). I am unable to find anyone (at present) who can tell me how this substance works in reducing doc- ie what is the chemical process? Most users suggest that water is visibly cleaner and fish are healthier with more vitality. However that isn't enough for me- I feel the need to know HOW it works in order to make an informed decision as to whether I wish to A) spend money on it and B) add it to my pond.
Can anybody here tell me how this substance works?

Cant say how it works but it works...I personally use it in my paste food(aids in digestion) less waste.

Thanks Aquitori, I haven't heard of anybody else using it in paste food. I really want to know how it reduces DOC.
