Naples,Fl has a show this weekend?

The Naples show had 30 tanks and 138 judged entries. There were some killer koi, and also some that were just a pleasure to see. This doitsu was a bit too slender for my taste, but it was a real treat to be able to enjoy it. The yellow was such a soft tone and so truly yellow ... well, you just don't see koi like this very often. And, we are talking very long. I'd say 32+"

And it will be a long time before I forget this fish. Just wish I had better photos. ...It seemed everyone was saying: "Yeah, this is a good _____, by the way, did you see the Goshiki over there?" Everybody saw "the" Goshiki. Owned by Luyends.

Doitsu Kigoi and 32+, pretty nice...If that fish had a inch of girth on each side it would look more impressive!!!

That Doitsu Kigoi came in from Momotaro at 24 inches with lots of girth from Momotaro. Luyen feed that beast!

The Hi on the Goshiki was every bit as thick as the photo makes it appear... but a lot better in person!

And before I call it quits for the night, I gotta share a heavy Sumi Showa that I found eyecatching, but couldn't get photoed from the front. This may not be the most impressive Showa at the show, but sometimes there's a fish that just plain stands out. With this one, it was the saturated color.

One of my favorite koi is a Shiro Utsuri owned by HenryC. She took honors as Best in Size 5 (20-26"). This is the result of good husbandry. ...And she has a few years to go.
