Pearl Gin-Rin Kohaku

This is a 14" Male, two year old, pearl gin-rin Kohaku bred on my farm. I thought the forum would appreciate a closer look. This thread is an off-shoot of "Nisai Harvest In Fresno Part I" where I am asking for critique of some of this year's two year olds. Enjoy.

Closeup of Gin-Rin.

Thank you, Richard (and Rob).

Hopefully JR will be able to school us before the NY Giants game comes on?

Koinut, my Male's gin-rin is not nearly as pronounced as your example. Thanks. What I like the most about this Male though is that the scales leave a net like pattern reminiscent of fukurin, but not. I'd like to hold on to his Male and observe his development over the next few years. I don't have any idea how this will develop. Is it stable, developing, or receding as much Gin-Rin does. If it does recede, what then will the fish appear like. What would a breeding with this Male result in?

Unfortunately, that was their first year of producing these as well, and didn't get to go back this year to see them as nisai. I was really hoping to see some larger examples as well, but now I'll have to just wait and see if anyone else has gone to their farm this year with pics.

Thumbs up Nice Comparison Shots

The photo's from Sekiguchi are almost startling . It would be interesting to see how they mature.
Richard, Your young male does have very nice scales in every way. As you mentioned the netting stands out nicely, but it isn't distracting. Just very complimentary to the whole fish. If he holds up well over the next year it would be nice to see how he would do in a show. In the GR class I'm betting he would get a lot of attention as the skin quality is so high and the beni so much richer looking than most GR Kohaku.

Very nice, Richard. I would like to see this in person, but having to rely on photos, yours are great.
