| How many of you think that the Aphis program is aware of which countries are able to qualify to send their fish in our direction without proper testing. This is amazing. I had a feeling a few countries would try to illegally "sneak" fish through with phoney certification forms, but I really did think we'd have been smart enough to have all this figured out before hand, investigate and seize these shipments as they come through.
Yeah, the "mouth of the ionosphere" has tried to taint everything and everyone(shows where journalistic license has gone). Personally, I think it would be just as easy for Japan to follow suit with some of the other Far Eastern countries and provide corrupt documentation - but they don't have to. They, from what I understand, actually have been testing for several years for SVC,and areas of Japan are actually considered SVC free ZONES. Therefore, no matter who you buy from within these ZONES, they are able to be certified by a Vet designated by the Fisheries Ministry to be free of SVC. I believe I had heard something to the effect that the Aphis people consider Japan as one of the safest zones to allow fish into the US from. Anyone have any contradictory info? Like I said, I'm just repeating things I've heard and read from others.
