Nope

No, I had considered visiting the Koi888 facility, but could not even get the name of a rep prior to travelling to the area. They were in a suberb of Angeles City, which would not have been difficult to reach, but I'm always leary of travelling to an area if not able to at least get a contact name first. I would think a place like Bagaio would be good for raising koi, but have yet to see the fruits of any serious efforts. Plus, the neighbors would surely want to eat most anything over a few centimeters in length I do believe farming fish is catching on and would be good for the ecosystem and public health in RP.

Ilocos is a great place to breed fish, have talked to my uncle who owns many hectars of land and convinced him to make mud ponds...The temps are prefect for growing big fish, just like Southern Japan, plus the land is used for rice farming too, so a plus.

Bagiuo, has water problems and big time..Bagiuo use to be the place to be, but deforestation has made the quality of life there a bit more uneasy. Having water trucked in everytime you do a water change would cost alot of money!!!

Philippine Koi

That is very interesting! I would be interested in seeing that some time. I've friends and do business with people in Botolan, Zambales and would be interested in visiting sometime over the next few years if possible. The Ilocos seem less developed than much of Luzon and the Visayas.
