The 2007 Koi Health Management seminar will be held Feb 9-11 at the UGA. Other details are still pending and the site will be up sometime next week(hopefully )

If you have not attended one, it is a great experience. If you have, this year promises to be even better than before.

please take this suggestion in the nature for what it is meant...nothing but helpful and positive.

As an international chat line where many of our readers do not speak english (even as a secondary language) UGA and other references might be better comprehended if it were spelled out, ie: University of Georgia.

I rewrote this several times trying to be anything but demeaning or belittling,
because I'm proud of this board and the wonderfully diverse participants that we have involved here. I appreciate your enthusiasm to share info for a helpful event and do not wish to be anything else but encouraging.

Dick, you are so correct. My oversight. Sometimes you just get to focused on the trees up close, and dont see the vista behind them. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart, your guidance was taken as it was meant!

The class is at Marrietta GA, at the University of Georgia there. It is a very hands on three days, with much class room, lab studies, and fun times during and after. There are several meals that will be provided that are exceptional.

As the finer details become available, and the speakers listing is sent to me, I will post them here. I do know that Vickie is the cornerstone for the program, and anything Vickie puts on is first class.

Last year there were people there from all over the USA, and a couple from other countries as well. There were 6 vets in attendance to learn about fish health and the possibility of incorp. that into their practice.

As I said, when the whole program becomes available, I will post it. I know that last year, by the middle of January, all slots were filled.

Here is the details for the seminar. Last year we had a Koi Kichi that brought his vet to the seminar......from out side the USA. It is well worth the money if you have valuable fish to have a vet you trust to go to the seminar. I dont have the latest number, but at last years seminar there were at least 7 new vets that were interested in learning more about caring for fish. So this is a good trend.

About the Course
The Koi Health Management course is directed towards veterinarians, hobbyists, retailers, and producers involved with the maintenance of ornamental fish. Course topics cover all aspects of fish husbandry. The laboratories range from beginner to advanced levels. Staff will be available for individual instruction. Each day concludes with a question-and-answer session.
