I do my water change on Saturday also. This Saturday was a bit more laborious as I'd mistakingly run a line out from the bog to do some draining in a flower bed. Then mistakenly turned the system off lost my prime cleaning the strainer basket and couldn't get it back without getting in the pond without pulling off the drain cover that was getting blocked with falling leaves from a magnolia and oak tree. After getting my prime back (pump's not mine personally) I was perplexed with how to get the cover on the drain back securely in place in five foot of water. Hmmm,...well I was already wearing my scuba farmer john wetsuit, but didn't want to get pond water in my ears and had no ear plugs. So what else, I took a big ziplock bag and put it over my head with a rubberband around the neck and went for it. Though some might wish I'd left the bag on I did take it off afterwards in what surely wasn't a text book operation. The most important thing is the system was back to normal and the fish were enjoying their water change

Not much I can do, look at the koi just laying around through the thin sheet of ice. I do have 3 small ones inside I can watch and feed. Can't wait for summer.

My greenhouse went up over the pond just in time as our outside temperatures are in the 30s with night time temperatures in the 20s(average). However, my pond water is 59 degrees so I am still feeding and hope to do so through the end of the year.
