I think a good hobbist/breeder is one who is willing to take the time to teach those, like me, who may not have their experience/knowledge.

No such thing as a "Good Hobbyist". A hobbyist is one who does the hobby for what they want out of it and not to what others think. JMHO

Its one things to be a "good koikeeper." Being a good koikeeper does not make one a good hobbyist. I think Dick's definition hits the nail on the head with perhaps the addition of "passion to share/teach," as well.
