We've been watching the weather out your way!! Bad news coming in about folks being without power!! DH and I invested in a generator last year. It's enough to keep both ponds running and our indoor holding tanks. Who cares about anything inside as long as the fish are protected. We've also put away a stash of gasoline with an additive also. We start the unit up 2xs a year to make sure it works properly as well. We've been lucky in that we've never had a power outage for more than a few mintues, but it pays to be prepared. These generators are not expensive when you consider the possibility of loosing your entire collection!!

LOL.Dick.these are special geese.... I have had them here since they were 3 days old.its been 8 months now! There is a lake seconds down the road, to which they fly.over.and back! They will be with me for a long time I fear!
Once the pond is done, it will be a battle to keep them out.......
We put in a goose pond last summer, so this will have to be beefed up.

We are nice folks in Canada

Sue, luckily, the large pond is not running anything.except behind schedule! I have 10 tanks indoors as well...and when the power goes out.well.we are on a well, and it is run by a pump.so the ladies room is out as well!

Yes, a giant generator is in order.

I have a hobby farm, and the critters were not impressed.
I have a generator on order....we were thinking of getting the one that operates the house.......everything.
Sorry to hear you've been getting pounded, too. Best wishes,

That's the spirit! Now get out there and get that generator (as soon as the stores restock and the prices go back down ).

Don't forget the trickle charger/battery minder (JNorth turned me onto that); also the gasoline additive that keeps it from going off so fast.

We should be getting the generator this weekend.there is Baliff in town that gets real good deals We may get two.just to showoff

Havr the additive already.hubby keeps it in the lawnmower gas.

Have two trickles.so we are good to go there.

Amazing how you take so many things for granted, until they are threatened.
