Dainichi Inazuma Showa.

This coming year will be 16 years when the Dainichi Inazuma Showa won the GC title at the All-Japan Shinkokai. Here are some pics of this famous Showa.

The dream showa! Wonder how it would have done against the kohaku that won last year?

The Dianichi Showa was a better Koi, it would have beaten the Kohaku hands down.

If I were judging, the showa would win every time because the Kato showa is my favorite koi of all time. But...the conformation on the kohaku (broad shoulders, proportional body, thick tail tube) and the skin quality (granted it was photo shopped with better technology) is out of this world. The showa has everything you could ask for in the variety (all 3 colors finished, sumi in the right places to compliment the beni pattern...). I guess since it does have the 3 colors finished, this would give it the edge?

Even though the Kohaku has the better body, (they almost always do compared to a showa don't they???) the showa imho is a more complete package. An Inazuma pattern to die for, good shiroji, and wonderfully balanced sumi. A tricolor Koi put together that well almost HAS to win the day.

I love showa best in general, and this showa in particular, but unfortunately the mask would likely win in a straight up contest, IMHO. Larger, better body, more complete colors (sorry, contrary to a previous opinion, to me the sumi is not complete)
