Henry, I downloaded the photos and played with them a bit. These are fine thank you!! This will likely appear in our January issue along with a local dealer that is testing also this week and offered to send photos as well.

It has not yet been determined whether vertical transmission (i.e., parent to egg) is or is not possible.

thank you both for the information.
i had heard a while back that it has made its way into stock here but wasnt sure if it really was KHV, bradley has said that it wasnt KHV but im still not sure what it is then, just that i know whatever it is i dont want it.

we have a problem with a goldfish disease coming into the country at the moment via importing and last week i saw a bay full of tanks with the disease. my stock in that shop was badly affected also.
i dont know how a koi would go in the tanks with that disease either..

i hear that they tested a gourami disease on murry cod and the cod died. this csrio testing to see if they can release KHV into the wild to do in the common carp problem is a bit of a head scratcher..
if they dont test the disease on every species then how would they know it was safe? and many times they do something like that and find its faults later.

the wild carp may be a problem but they have many problems in those waterways - the flows for example arent like they used to be which is stopping wild fish from living in there in the numbers they used to, as such i think that the problem isnt just the carp that can still handle those conditions.

Hi Steve, I had talked to Dr. Richard Porter about this. I told him I was tinking about writing an article on it with some photos and such. he informed me about his. He certainly has some detailed photos of drawing blood.

50+ photos

At least. Unfortunately, we had to narrow it down to 5 or 6. We also did some artwork showing how deep the needle penetrates.
