KHV Testing Photos

Kevin tested all our fish for KHV and sent me photos to share as well. Hopefully I get them uploaded in the right order. The caption under the photo should tell you what's going on.

Wow, that is very honorable of Kevin to do this! This just shows concern, care for business and the customers. Showing the proof further of quality in what he does.
Much props to Kevin, thanks for sharing this with us!

Kevin is very responsive to his cutomer's concerns. I think with the many outbreaks reported this past year, it was time to start doing this. I also thank him VERY MUCH for making sure our fish are healthy. This not only protects his clients, but also ensures his facility has no problems as well. I understand they tested well over 100 fish!!

Joe, pictures please!!!

Tony

Didn't Tom Lai and Tom Tse both have fish tested with the PCR method last year?

What Kevin was doing was not PCR testing. What he was doing to to each fish was drawing blood for Serology. Serology can detect koi that are carriers of the KHV. PCR can detect KHV while the fish are sick.

To my knowledge there is only just over a dozen dealers in the US that are doing Serology tests. I could be wrong on the exact number but its wouldnt be that much more than that.

Sue pics are a coming..

Correct Joe!! Drawing blood is done for the serology testing, not PCR. Sorry for the confusion.
