your opinion of this kujaku?!?!

I have been looking for a good kujaku since I lost mine to the supaverm incident several months ago. This is a 14 inch male from kansuke. I am very fond of the pattern and deep beni. My reservation in this purchase is the matsuba scalation. Do we assume the matsuba will improve with time or...what I see today is what I will have 5 years from now. I don't have any long term experience with kujaku to judge. I appreciate the input and advice. Don't want to make a bad purchase on my christmas/hannukah gift

The Head , head "color" and over all lack of sheen bother me...As a male it should be close to finished, which it is not....the Matsuba may or may not get better, but the other stuff overwhelm it.. sorry

Save your money, I don't think that fish will ever improve. Look at the head, when purchasing Kujaku, we look for a white clean head. This head is very dirty looking. Also from the picture it does not seem to have any sheen, We want to see a good sheen on kujaku.

The first fish looks "dirty" to me. Not clean and white on the head as was noted earlier.

But the fish you lost is a beautiful fish. So sorry that he is no longer with you. Look for another like it. That's what you want to find. Kujaku also are available with a more orange color as well. I love those also.
