Pix of some of our koi . . .

Here are some pond pix taken this morning. No glamorous bowl shots here, so pardon the ripples, reflections and distortions – don’t bother asking, I can assure you beforehand none of these koi are deformed.

While there are a few show koi in our pond, most of them are just garden variety pond piggies. They’re all well loved (and well fed), however, including the ones selected by our kids and grandkids. Enjoy.

And if anyone has any questions I’ll do my best to answer them.

Very nice Don but I'm not sure about that soragoi. Looks like it could use some more food .

Hmmmmm. Six single color koi, I think? A calm atmosphere and friendly koi. Nice.

OK Don, #9 (and # 20) Sanke, right? But didn't you say that you had 6 showa and 6 kohaku? Did I misunderstand and you really meant 6 + 6 + some others? Or are you calling #9 showa?

Don and MikeM, what other single colors are there? Green is one. Oh, but then we have to deal with matsuba being a single color, introducing more possibilities if some nut wanted an all single color pond.

In the "What's your favorite koi" thread I mentioned we had 5 showa and 5 kohaku. Didn't mean to imply that's all we had!

And you're correct -- koi #9 (same as koi #20) is a sanke.
