Hi Sue,

Lotsa snow and wind and blizzard conditions for almost two days straight, but looks like we are in the clear now...pun intended

Had to shut down and empty one of the two temp qponds and move the koi to the bigger one, but other than that, doing ok... Those koi are still at 58F and looking for food. We did not have any power outages at our house but I am not as sure about Jan. I think Pueblo is ok, but I be she didnt go to work

Thnx for asking Best to you and Dick

HA! Work is a 4 letter word right now, Bob. LOL But I did go in, cause believe it or not our ground has only one inch of SNOW!!! I know, only 45 mins. south, but we got tumbleweeds instead of 2 feet of snow. Extremes are normal here. Our son in Denver has 30 inches of snow at his home and is still waiting for snow plows to visit the neighborhood. They shoveled to get out to grocery store yesterday, but barely got back home - in a big,4 wheel drive pickup! All commerce stopped. Daughter in law is flight attendant and could not get to DIA if she wanted! A true 'snowed-in' situation. We might be having Christmas alone since no one can get here.
I was worried about the pond....with the horrendous winds, there were 'whitecaps' on it.(talk about 'super-cooling' effects!) I knew with the zero wind chill it was gonna be a struggle for the heater to stay on, let alone keep temps up. We have not covered the surface yet this year because it really has been very mild up until NOW. All is fine, though. The pond water is at 50-55 degrees and they are swimming at the surface!

Hunker down and enjoy your family and the koi, Bob. The world has a way of 'slowing us down' and reminding us to 'smell the roses' along the journey.

Thanks, Sue, for your concern. I think this weather is by now heading your way. Hope all is well with you, Dick and friends.

Bob and Jan,

It is nice to hear that you and your families are doing well. Nothing like a little snow to remind us that we can be at the mercy of the weather.

Amazing that there was so much of a difference between you two with snowfall!! We see that here as well. We've been watching the storm head up this way, but it looks like it will just miss us...the majority of it anyway. We got a little ice yesterday - messy driving and will get a little snow today/tonight. A bit further south they are getting hit and I'll be Chicago gets it again also.

Glad you hear you both are ok!! Do you both have generators just in case?
