Difficult for me to choose. C best meets the classic pattern criteria, but I like the look of A. I would select A unless in person I had the idea she was finishing too soon.

C by a long way as far as I can see from photo .A is lacking in odome as well as the kiwa is not as good . B is likely a male but not as intresting pattern .It would be nice to know age and size of these fish . I presume that the shiro is good on all .

I'd put my money on C just for it's skin quality, keep it in the mud, hope it's a Female. Safest choice. A.

As Tony stated - these are jumbo tosai from Sakai Hiroshima

Based on that, I would agree that C is the best fish - now and future. A is way too messy between the steps - I think it will become worse as it grows - body is good yes, but that's not all there is to koi. The shiroji on C is translucent and young looking, beni plates appear very thick and homogenous and the pattern is the best of all of them, especially for growth and future. Forget B unless you have a small pond - probably male.

I'm just wondering for those who pick C, is this nothing to be concerned about? From what I've seen in the past were breaks in weaker hi areas, have never seen them mend or catch up with each other? If it was bowled looking like the pic, I would be staring at that spot for a while. This wouldn't concern most of you? I'm just learning!
Should I, or shouldn't I?

c,a,b...A has the best conformation, but there comes a point where the skin quality and pattern cannot be ignored.

I really don't see much of a problem in the area you've circled. It's very hard to see if it's really that weak in the picture. I think the quality of the beni and shiroji on this fish is superb. Far better than the other two. JMHO.

That area you have circled is not weak Hi. There is a difference between weak Hi and a possible break in the pattern or Hi that is consolidating. I would not worry about it. Remember, they are young fish and will change, so you need to learn to recognize where the positive changes will be. Confirmation, I think, is included in this. It can change as well.
