I'd pick that luminous "C" first, B second, A third. "A" might be a beefier fish, but it has a lot of clean up to do concerning its skin quality. Keep in mind that these are jumbo tosai pushed for growth....

Thumbs up Cccccccccccc

CAB for me. A does have the big body but is a bit messy and the Odome is a problem stacked up against C. B looks to be a skinny male with a limited future just on that count. C on the other hand has a well proportioned body, great looking skin, a nicely balanced pattern that should look good if it remains a 2 step or breaks into 3 (I'm betting it breaks ).

Thinking about this group of fish and what they represent from the Breeder's perspective I'd say the more interesting question about Jumbo Tosai is what's wrong with these fish? Jumbo Tosai are identified early in the culling process as fish that have potential worthy of extra care. They are fast tracked and culled again going into the Winter. The fish we see here did not live up to expectation.

I would agree with that, but the question is, how would you rate these Kohaku?
Given what they are, can't they still be rated?

R R & Russell . . .

you're both correct, just looking at different sides of the same coin (er, koi).
