Japanese breeders and people to honour

Hello everybody

AS normally winter is a slow waiting times her in Norway. Time spent thinking, reading and longing for summer when not with the Nishikigoi at the indoor pond.
Its true some of next summers funny technical gadgets for the water/Nishikigois are maid and improvements to old ones can find its time, but its most about waiting.

In that respect we are eagerly searching for information on the persons we find responsible for our blessing. We are primarily thinking of Japanese breeders and would appreciate any help/links to good informative sites. We have now in our fifteenth year accumulative much especially of the ones behind our own “pleasures”
Still this one has not been easy to get good information on:
Marusada Koi Farm – aka ”jeimon” - Ikarashi Toshikatsu.

All information will be valued like a dear Christmas present, so thanks to everyone contribution.

We are now of the big family supper and wishes all of you a happy and marry holyday!

I spoke with Marusada at the Nogyosai dinner put on by Mr. Kato. Since the earthquake I have not been able to see them even after driving up to their home. They were just never around. I had heard many stories about them, all of which were truly sad. Stories that they had pretty much lost everything.

At the dinner I was very surprised and happy to see Marusada. As soon as he noticed me we gravitated toward each other and began to catch up. I told him that I was very sorry that we had not crossed paths sooner as I wanted to purchase Koi from him this year. I asked him how things were going. He said that after the earthquake they did lose just about everything. It has been a difficult road to recovery and still they only have a few Koi for sale. They are not going to give up though. He says that slowly things are getting better and they hope to fully recover with production in the near future. I told him that I will make every effort to come back to see them next year.

After your time in the hobby you very well might already have access to this information, but I like this link: http://www.japan-nishikigoi.org/breeder_2.html

http://www.koi-uk.co.uk/nishikigoi_breeders_index.htm

Enjoy,

Than everybody its nice and warming that answers can be gotten so fast in this family holyday season.

Dear Russell we are sadly aware of the heavy toll nature has taken out on “Toshi” and have been promised by our friend (European cornerstone for Nishikigoi as far as we are concerned) that there should be possibilities for supplies from him again.
Just started thinking about him again after receiving some Dainichi Kohaku’s (just a couple of days ago) He had then been responsible for the whole shipment and not just our box. As Josef said you really need a solid rock to take care of the important things in life.
With this mode on I started to see what I had of written material of this person that year after year had produced, packed (his and others) and made sure that my and many others arrived safely her in Europe to our joy. It was sadly little (in Norwegian).
We have in a small (and I do mean small) way tried bit by bit to get information and state of Nishikigoi mind over to our native language, sadly not all Kichi are happy with English. Hope you will get some Nishikigoi from him the next time around. When times are hard the only real help is possibility for continual relations and hope.

Vogata,

The first two years of going to Niigata we spent a lot of time with Marusada. We helped them pull their mud ponds many times and have shared many, many, many beers with them. We plan to keep the friendship going and I truley hope that I will be buying Koi from them next season.

My sanke from him arrived in the U.S. a few weeks ago and she is marvelous. When I picked her out, the people I was with said that if a person wanted to buy a GC, Marusada was the place to do it.
So, everyone should go there and buy lots of fish.
