seeing this post i got to bring it back up... i have a sakuma showa that i bought when the sumi was very strong, it lost nearly all of its sumi on its head to its dorsal after the first year we had it, then it started to come back up its very strong now and has come in a different pattern form before.. i dont have any b4 and after pice sorry

Thought it was time to update how the sumi has continued to come back -- i.e., slowly.

I was thinkin' the same thing...
Pretty encouraging progress on all counts though. Not only is the sumi returning, the beni seems to be building strength and nice clean shiroji too. This one may well give you exactly what you were hoping for on day one

Don,
I had that same problem. Sumi disappeared I move the fish to my buddies pond. She started to loose the beni as well. The good thing now is the sumi came up again. NOw she is a fine Shiro Utsuri. The other one turned into a bekko. It's amazing how they change.
