Opinions of these two small kohaku?

These two were bought by me 2 months ago. They are both about 5 inches (bought at 3-4 inches...looking bigger and fuller now). The kohaku is from Sakai(H), the Ginrin Kohaku is from Blue Ridge koi farm. Let me know what you think of their present and future. I appreciate the opinions here a great deal...so, thanks in advance!!!

To be honest I don't like either of them. They seem to lack balance. Ebay them......

Agree... On such small ones it can be very difficult to evaluate the Hi and downright impossible in a photo, but I don't like the look of it and apparently the breeders didn't either.

I commend the posters ahead of me for their honest albeit non flattering comments. I don't disagree with them. If i had to choose between the 2
the koi from hiroshima would go IMMEDIATELY as i feel it's days as a shiro muji are advancing. The GR is hard to tell from a photo, and since GR makes a GR koi, I can't tell it's quality but the beni looks like it will hold better than the other one.

Wow...I'm surprised about the ginrin. I thought the pattern was interesting. I will hold them until they hit 10-12inches, then decide. If no improvement...to ebay with ya both!!!!

Sounds like the Romans have spoken!!LOL I would definitely agree with all concerning the Sakai(h) kohaku. Don't spend the extra time money and space on it til it reaches 8" even. E-Bay it now before it degrades further. It has no place to go but down. The GR isn't too bad but like Mike said, it's too hard to tell Gr and Beni quality at this size and especially from a pic at 5".

Got to agree

The GR is the better of the 2, but it is kinda messy up front and the tail just kind of disappears. The other one is just kind of pinkish all over and very unbalanced.

LOL...and it's a thumbs down situation!!! I will probably keep the Ginrin just to see what happens. I can definitely see where we have to worry about the shiro-muji thing happening to the kohaku. The reason I even have the photo's is the weather. Since it is winter in new england, My koi are all at the bottom now for the season. Except...4 smaller koi that are hiding at the surface in a corner. I was afraid these guys would freeze when it iced over. So, I caught them yesterday and brought them inside. I'm always afraid that the little guys aren't going to survive the winter.

I agree, dont keep any, the hi looks ok but the pattern are not so pleasing, but they will make someone some nice little pond babies.
