Since the photo is taken from above the shoulder, the head is made to look disproportionately small. I do not think it is, but the shoulders are wide. (You can get a different sense of the fish by saving the photo onto your pc and then rotating it for display.) ...I assume the left pectoral was turned and is not deformed. A beautiful Showa. Very nice Sumi. Gorgeous face pattern. Very good body that can handle more growth. I'd like to see the Hi in person. The photo makes it seem very red, which would bother me at this size, but I expect it is less intensely red in person. I would like to have this Showa.

Nice showa...I like the head pattern a great deal. The motogoro looks like it is probably very good. The pattern seems well balanced. Nice choice

More pics

Thanks Mike! Here is some more pics. Pecs are normal. Hi is not as deep as it appears. The mouth is slightly smaller than I would like so she will not grow at the speed of lightning but she will be steady with good quality...I hope! Always a gamble but she was expensive and she is from Hiroi.

Beautful showa, I also like the head of this koi, nice pattern.

You know this type of koi is so hard to figure, if you like what you see get it and hope for the best, I guess the breeder out there know what to look for when raising them, but I have been trying to figure the showa and shiro Ut's out for a while now and still have not learned much.

Thanks for sharing her, Ern

What a lovely LOVELY GinRin Showa! The hi plates are just to die for and the sumi, once fully established, will be simply stunning. Wish she were swimming in my pond. *L*

My Ginrin is from Ogata, but my regular Showa tosai is from Sakai. Just for comparison sake:

What size and age is your Showa, Ern?

I like the third photo. Shows the height of the shoulders. I did not know that Hiroi was producing Showa of this sort.
