finally...pictures

i am not real computer savvy...so me and the computer have been fighting all day....i think that i finally got a couple of the pictures to come out... this is a couple shots of my new pond.....it is 14000 us gallons.....has two 4 inch bottom drains that each run to a set of clyclone 7500 vortex systems..in the pump shed is an advantage 15 bead filter ..at the head of the pond there is a bakki shower with bh media..there is also four jets for current in the pond...each pump has two sources of feed...the skimmer and one of the vortex systems feed the pump that goes to the bead filter and then returns to the pond via the waterfall or the jets...the other pump is fed by the other vortex system and an extra 3 inch bulkhead that is about three feet deep and has a strainer on it for fish safety...this second pump goes straight to the bakki shower...it is plumbed with two 2 inch lines for better flow..... as you can tell from the photos...some serious landscaping will need to be done now...

Congrats on the new pond! It looks like some real good thought went into the design. So where are the shots of the very happy koi?

It looks great! Congratulations. It is nice to finally put a pond to the person.

I have one suggestion. You have eductors on your return lines. I ended up removing all of mine because the Koi were scraping their color off on them. If you are going to keep them, try to wrap them with something soft.

Beautiful.

I can imagine conifers that hold their lower branches forming a background that blocks out the neighbors, some Japanese Maples for atmosphere and rhododendrons for early summer color and evergreen leaves. ...Is there a fern that grows locally that's not more than 6" long? 4" would be better. Need it in a rock crevice, or some green moss?

very nice powerman....just know that as you plan your landscaping that anything diciduous usually deposits it's leaves in the pond (murphy's law)
looking forward to seeing your spring transfer of your koi....

Russ thanks for mentioning what you learned about things with edges in the pond ( it's murphy's law again! )

The pond looks great.

The thing I dont like is those patio pond vortexs, they are hard to match up the right pump with.

Nice... excellent job!

Did you use the standard "brushes and matting" that comes with the Cyclone units?

Kind Regards,
Bill

thanks for the input

russell...i will watch the eductors and look for a way to soften them up..maybe dip the ends in some kind of liquid rubber......dick and mike ..thanks for the landscaping tips..things are really a mess now...fixing it should be fun..aquitori..to get the flow right through the vortexes i used larger pumps but gave each pump an alternative feed with a dial valve for fine tuning...i also have flow meters on the lines coming in from the vortexes..the pumps i have will suck the last vortex dry before the gravity feed will keep up if i dont use the alternate feed..i have been running it all fall and winter with no problem. i can pull about 3600 gallons per hour through each vortex system .of course i dont have fish poop yet.. bill..i did use the standard brushes and matting that came with the vortexes, but i added more matting... Oh there is also two 500 watt lights in the front pond wall which lights it up nicely at night.. I tried to take a picture but it didnt turn out..

Very nice looking pond. How many GPH are you flowing over your baki shower?
