With dogs, they're called Heinz 57 pound puppies.

Your koi doesn't 'fit' any of the recognized varieties -- but if you love it that's all that counts.

Black speckles... please!

Vols,

Jim has it right. Not even close to standard, but best call is an Aka Bekko. Basically, this koi has a poor pattern (too many black speckles), as well as poor body shape (hard to tell from the photo). But again, something you can both learn from and enjoy, yes?

Kind Regards,
Bill

Sorry Bill, I left out a comma. I meant to write the red, speckled crapagoi.

Hey, I have one just like that as a pet, its name is no other than Pepper and the other one I have is called Shaker, he got his name after breaking his back in a spawn, kind of shakes when he swim's. These two koi were my first koi so they get to stay.

Vols: You must in Florida or Louisiana. So many gators in your photo album! I especially like the spider. Looks like you're ready to catch the koi bug in a serious way. Hang around.
