I like the GR utsuri better than the showa posted. The frame looks better on this fish. Does this mean that pattern is starting to matter less to me? Maybe there's hope for me yet. LOL. I'm still not a big fan of GR though.

So-so head, way waaaay buff in the shoulders and looking strong down the back until you get to the tail tube, where all appearance of strength deserts it and makes the conformation appear imbalanced from front to rear. Pattern balanced from side to side but off front to rear just like it's conformation.

Got 3 rows of flawless ginrin? I dunno...looks very similar to my hi utsuri that started out strong in the ginrin dept but began disintegrating as she grew and bulked out, but could be the pic as ginrin really is hard to capture in an image and is better appreciated first hand. Same with the sumi and shiroji. Can't tell much from a pic with a ginrin since we're seeing flash and not ground...

I like the showa better overall, Tony.
