The pattern looks like it has potential but the tail bothers me. It looks too thin. You can't judge conformation at this early of an age but from the look of the 2nd picture where the tail is flexing and the general thinness of the tail I would have some concerns.

Nice head on what looks to be a tosai. Though the fish appears to be a bit narrow and stretchy, it has a good overall balanced shape and frame that will buff out nicely if given half a chance. The scalloped edges of the hi plates gives the fish a flowery look. Interesting very red beni on this one, at least on my monitor. Sumi looks to be coming in a tad differently than what I'd expect of a showa--more sanke-like. Nice shiroji.

Breeder/bloodline/age, Tonio?

I like the koi myself, cant tell much about the tail tube really because of angle in the photo. But judgeing from what I can see the koi is a nice little one, I would buy it for my pond, beautiful hi and shiro and sumi is good and deep, plus the koi has good luster. Not bad

First of all let me say that the level of education is increasing as i observe posts here lately...To see people talking about body confirmation and other criteria is a good sign that we has a whole are progressing in our knowledge
toward better selection. By making better selections we'll get better results and be more willing to purchase better and better fish which benefits everyone from the breeder to the dealer to the back yard pond!

For me it's difficult to comment on GR cause you can't see it well in photos.

Red in the showa's tail area is suspect and as personal preference I like to see beni wrapped below the lateral line to keep the pattern riding well as the body builds and patterns tend to ride up. I don't think the showa is gonna be that big of fish however because of the width of the eyes and mouth. on the positive side ( as we should always think with koi ) I like the white shoulders
and I'm a sucker for any fish with "panda eyes"......
