Who has the most GC trophies?

Has anybody put together a list of who has the most Grand Champion trophies here in the US? In the absence of any recognized national competition, I guess the title of America's greatest hobbyist would fall to the one with the most wins. Anyone care to share their victory totals with us?

Not me

I have zero.

Dan Charnes and Gene Smith have 7 over 3 years for 4 differing club shows.

My guess would be Joe Co. Not just for the number of shows where he won GC but also his 4-5 year run of GC at S. Cal Zna shows.

Would you consider a small Koi show GC in a small town equal to a GC at Gardena? I think one win at Gardena is way more on the point scale than a lot of other shows so I don't think the most wins should give you the title of America's greatest hobbiest.

I dont think number of wins should define a successful hobbyist in any part of koi. I think people should just enjoy it as much as possible.

Thats a loaded question. I don't think he means not counted. What I think he means is if a koi wins GC out of a field of say 300 koi vs a field of say 60 koi then the GC out of 300 koi should count for more. Using a point system you could go with 1 point for less then a hundred koi entered, 2 points for 100-200, 3 points for 200-300 etc.

Oh my so many angles. What if the show with only 60 fish entered had all large top quality fish and say the show with 150 fish enry had majority of smaller sized fish? There are many top hobbyist with great koi keeping skills. I pray they continue to share their koi and their knowledge.
