I'll certainly be looking forward to your reports, hard not being able to go this year so will have to live thru your reports!

Mike Good luck to you...I hope your koi shows well. No matter where it places to own a koi good enough to compete is reward in itself.

I know, the yen is at a record high for as long as I can remember.
what do you think is causing the yen to become weaker to the dollar?

1.00 USD USD =120.624 JPY
Japan Yen 1 USD = 120.624 JPY 1 JPY = 0.00829019 USD

but I dont understand why, when you try to convert it back, you get less than what you started with..

OHHHHH because you need to give 120.624 JPY back to get your dollar.

I don't remember this amount for the dollar to yen conversion in the last seven years. I looked up the Historical Currency Exchange Table and on January 18, 2006 the exchange rate was 115.1980 JPY to the USD.

Last time I saw the yen at 120 was back in 2001!

Dick

Thanks for the well wishes. Sorry, it's not an Asagi. Hosokai didn't have any really nice sansai that we were able to see this year. More gosanke as Masaru takes over the reigns from his Dad. Anyway, you're absolutely correct. Any fish that the breeder feels is of high enough quality to enter into this show is a pride to own especially when the opinion belongs to Sakai!!

Will post lots of photos of the show and people and whatever else. Russ is bringing his new toys with him to play with. Who knows what time we'll get to bed on this trip. We were up til 1 and 2 in the morning in the fall. LOL
