The seemingly Incomplete strokes of sumi as if a painter did it..,is that what you would call..."Do Zumi" on Showa Sanshoku? Its Te Zumi is under 30%, would this be taken as a fault if you were to show it at this time? Its motoguro looks really good, but is it to white too far up towards the head from the tail?

Russell.what a massive undertaking you jumped into! I thank you for all the wonderful and stunning pictures of koi. The SHiros are some of my favorites, but the kohakus are just simply brilliant.

Toshio sakai is a really open minded person and really cares about what you say, no matter how uneducated it may be. Those kind of people really shine in our world dont they?
WHat?

ANd what world are you living in?

Nonononono, sorry not what I meant.
I was adding in something, not saying he was uneducated or anything. Not what I was trying to say.
I tried to say that sakai san had an open mind to all types of people no matter how long you have been in the hobby.
Does that clarify somewhat?
OH MY GOD!!!!!
Why did I make that BOLD!!!!!
It makes it look like I was insulting him, OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, Compliment totally backfired on me just because of plain stupidity!!!!!!

Final Day in Isawa

Today is our final day in Isawa. Toshio Sakai has told us that today he is going to start teaching us about his Maruzome Kiwa on his sumi. He will be pulling some of his best Koi as examples. I will post pictures and information as I can.

No Harm No foul. Another hobbyist that knows a heck of a lot more than I about koi once told me no one outside of Japan knows anything about koi. He was saying compared to a Japanese 2nd or 3rd generation koi breeder that lives and cares for his koi 24/7 even the most expereinced long term koi hobbyist in the western world is still way behind in knowlege.
