Spent the day (speaking of fruit) repotting all my quince. That was a job. I even got some of my Crab apple done as well. When i repot those that produce fruit I always mix in a little bonemeal with the soil mix ( which i custom make myself) Small world...yesterday i ran across "Boon" in seattle
teaching a class with some of his students

I just went to one of Boons Shows down in Hayward. I have to say besides Japan. This is one of the best shows I have been too. Boon holds an intensive class that he wants 110% commitment to show up. Too bad I live too far for classes.

He's a good teach, he's paid his dues and the students I know that follow him have really improved. I tried his soil mixture last year on my pines and it's making me a believer.....

That's a really beautiful tree. Funny how a tree like that or a 30 inch koi is more than a handful for one person. I have qa couple of trees that it takes
all that i have to move them....my biggest is a weeping red pine

That tree is called Ascending dragon.. It is 42" high. One of he docents told my wife if she could carry it by herself she could have it. I said if I can carry it can I have it He said NO! you look like you could use 1 hand

Something about the word Dragon. In Shinji Suzukis ( won Sakafu 10 show 3 times) video he had a tree named dragon...

Nancy, this is where I sent Sam to Visit in Tokyo. I was gonna take you guys as well but time was short this trip. Next time for sure..

This is Kunio Kobayashi's museum. Our Bonsai Pal is his apprentice.

Kobayashi Won Sakafu 10 4 times. This is equivalent to All Japan koi show.
