Wow those are beautiful bonsai nancy.
Do you know which was 10,000 USD?
I remember once, seeing a bonsai that was over 1000 years old in a bonsai Japanese Magazine in a bonsai shop in Japan town, San Francisco.

Joe, It was great... only sad part was we could not bring any home. Damm Government regulations. Frank and I also received the All Japan 2006 book of Bonsai from last years show,as a gift from a friend of ours in Tokyo. Oh my god, now if I could only have one of the bonsai from that book, I would be a happy camper.

LOL I was just talking to Melissa about that pine. cause it just looks like he dumped it there. Nishiki Matsu.. Yes they are found mainly over there. I actually have one... But not as good as his.

Marusei has many things... Go into his snack bar area and you will find an many exotic things...

Damm you, I am jealous. I went over to house of bonsai today, to give Vicky show packet for ZNA, and she just got 4 California Junipers in... I wish I had one, or knew someone who went out and dug for them

Chestnut blight, White pine blister rust, red pine scale, dutch elm disease, terpentine beetles are just a few of the Exotic pests introduced in the past. I guess we are trying to learn from past mistakes. If there were no quarantine laws our exotic and native trees would be subjected to hundreds of potentially devastating pests. It is not always convenient but someone has to help protect our environment.
