Shiro,

I would like to invite you to join the Hawaii Goldfish and Carp Association. I believe the next meeting is the second Sunday in March.

This is wrong and someone needs to speak up and have this type of attitude stopped! S/he continuously puts breeders, dealers, new comers/youngsters, and other's kois down. I may get banned from this forum for speaking my mind, but that's OK! At least we know where this forum stand as far as koi keeping.
No matter what Kodama Farm brings in, they should keep their rude comments to themselves. These individuals all have there addresses on file and rest a sure, they're not hard to find! I've given them kois and I can easily take them away!

Shiro
I HOPE YOUR NOT AFFILIATED WITH KODAMA KOI FARM. PEOPLE IN THIS BOARD ARE HIGHLY OPINIONATED. YOU JUST HAVE TO READ AND LEARN AS YOU GO. IF THAT'S THE OPINION OF OTHER PEOPLE YOU JUST HAVE TO RESPECT IT. NOT EVERYONE WILL APPRECIATE IT BUT IF THAT'S THE HONEST TRUTH YOU JUST HAVE TO TAKE IT EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU READ. HAVE A GOOD NIGHT SHIRO. AND CALM DOWN. YOU MIGHT HAVE A HEART ATTACK. I HOPE YOU DIDN'T GIVE ME ANY KOIS CO'Z YOU MIGHT TAKE THEM AWAY. BY THE WAY I'M FROM WALNUT, CA.

Shiro,

You should take Bekko up on that offer to go to club meeting. Meanwhile with 5 out of your 7 posts being inflammatory in nature you now have 10 days off. Sorry but you gave me no choice.

In your own words you've made several things about yourself plain. You came here angry to stir up discontent. You defend lousy fish and condemn those who are honest enough to tell the TRUTH about them. You claim to be knowledgeable when you are clearly less than a novice. You toss about threats based on outright falsehoods. You need to grow up.
That being said, you are not uninvited. Steve has made you an excellent offer that I hope you take him up on. He is one of our most knowledgeable and respected members, but by no means a "koi snob". You may just discover that the reason for the honesty about Koi and Koi Ponds on this board has a very good purpose. We hope to save others new to the hobby from throwing good money after bad Koi while teaching/learning from each other about the best ways to care for them well.

I had the same impression... Lil'dude can speak for himself when he's ready and he definitely doesn't need a knothead to defend his honor. (Maybe JG has a hawaii alter ego )

You sound like a nice young man, I think you should seriously take Steve H. up on the offer to attend there koi club meeting. Also if you would fill out your user profile that would be nice. We don't appreciate people hiding behind screen names, as you will notice we all use our own name within our post. You should also think about not posting threatening things such as (you have peoples personal information) even if it is not true, people automatically believe that you are affiliated with Kodama koi farm, and that in its self could hurt Kodama more than us posting that the fish on ebay are crapagoi. No one wants to buy fish from any dealer, who thinks that, that dealer or employee of that dealer would post there personal information on a public forum. If you posted pics of your fish and pond, I am sure we would try to explain to you the best way to make your existing system work better, now your fish is a different story, if you post a thread asking for opinions than you open yourself up for truth and sometimes that truth can hurt.

Back to Kodama. I don't have any problem at all with what they are trying to do. If breeders feel exploited then they should look elsewhere to sell. I think Kodama will do big numbers if they do it right. I think they might consider dropping the online auction site if they want to get serious about wholesale. Whether deserved or not, it gives the impression that they would be keeping the cream of the crop for themselves to sell online. I think retailers are looking for sources they feel haven't been skillfully plucked of all the cherries. To be honest some of the best koi I see coming in at the 5-6" size are from other Pacific Rim countries like Thailand. The domestic stuff is certainly improving too. All this competition may get us to the point where a very nice healthy koi in the 5-6" size can sell at retail for around $10-12. This will help expand the market and also grow interest in moving on to the higher quality nishikigoi. It could well be win/win for much of the marketplace. Kodama has an opportunity to sell very healthy koi which will keep people in the hobby long term. If they raise the bar for the rest of the industry it might be a good thing.

I think you've confused Koi Bito with Disneyland.

We're the one that says "Straight from Japan . . . For the Serious Hobbyist!" at the top of the screen.

We're more like, well, school.

Come on in, class is about to start!
