What breed of Koi do I have?

Lots of people have been stumped on this one....I'd love to know what you all think....and I would really appreciate it. First picture is at 5"....last two pictures are at around 9".

Thanks,
Ethan

Looks like a Matsuba, but with the red and blue it is hard for me to say for sure. Mostly it looks like a pond mut.

I have been told potentially a matsuba....another said it could be a unique breed....(most likely meaning MUTT I assume).....it's a pretty sharp looking fish in the pond....the blue threw me off when it was younger....but it seems to have turned into more of a slate/silver....

the white belly also gives me headaches when trying to classify....

thanks for your help.

Anyone else have thoughts?

As long as you like it then it doesn't matter what it is . If it were mine I would just call it a pond mutt.

Looks like a failed goshiki paired up with a failed asagi and made a mutt baby Any way you look at it, if it maintains a nice indigo blue it should look interesting in the pond and give you a lot of ammo for "stump the band" competitions

Sometimes koi don't fit any variety. If I had to guess, I'd say matsuba. In reality, its the sort of koi that was possibly the product of a mass spawn between an assortment of different varieties. If you like it, that's what counts. I'd call it a mutt too.

Hey, if you call it rare and a unique new variety, you can sell it on Ebay for a LOT of money!!
