If you do you might make Don quit too..
We all started somewhere in the hobby.
I have a story I have told more than a few times..
A breeder from Japan came to town one day so Kevin, Larry and I took him around to see a few ponds... One of the pond had some high dollar fish. I looked at the breeder and his face was a bit confused. I asked the breeder what was up... He was very sad for the fish because they were stressed and in bad shape and not swimming sitting on the bottom.
Later that afternoon we went to another pond. He looked alot happier. I again said what's up. He had told me that this pond has some pond mutts and and some low end koi and longfin. But what he is happy about is the fish are swimming and happy and in good health. So this makes him happy to see happy koi swimming around and acting normal.
Moral to the story is: You can have the best fish but it doesnt mean a damn thing if they are sick and unhealthy.
Ethan, enjoy the hobby for what it is even if you don't have stunners. Eventualy you might or might not. But main thing is to enjoy..
