New Koi Pics...

Below are some photos of our beloved koi -- just shot! I know they aren't show winners, but we love 'em anyway. Additional photos and details about our koi, backyard ponds, and DIY projects are available on our website, http://JoesPonds.com. If you stop by, be sure to sign our guestbook and if you're a pond owner, be sure to join our online pond tour. Enjoy...

Looking good

As per usual they're looking pretty good.
Did you have any problems during the big "freeze"? I know it didn't stay chilly long enough to mess with pond temperatures too badly, but temps in the 20's can zap a filter pretty quick in an area not expecting it.

Yeah, it was extremely cold for about a week. We've been in the house for 4 years, but this was the first time it ever got cold enough to create any ice in our ponds. I only left a single pump running and turned off my filter setup. Everything's back up and running now. The Koi basically relaxed at the pond bottom. Water temps are actually in the low 50s now and the Koi are surprisingly active...

Naturally I liked see the picture of your olde blue fish....I was a bit concerned about your comment of turning the filter off? Did i understand that correctly?
