The breeder of the fish can identify which fish have quality beni and which ones do not at a young age. What I see in the photos is an orange hi color moving toward a red hi, that in and of itself does not represent an improvement in the red. Do you use food with spirulina? I do see a uniformity of color as the koi ages in these pictures, much like the difference between the head color and the body color on many kohaku. The head and body color become more uniform over time. The darker hi in the center of the scale indicates the quality of the hi. The kiwa may be a little suspect.
