I would think that a young koromo would have white fins and not gray ones like this young fish has?

Goshiki has netting (reticulation) on the shiro, a Goromo doesn't. Goshiki.

I see. You are right
Is there a gray/navy color stripe in the main bone of the dorsal fin?

If we could see a stripe in it. 100% Goshiki.
Additionally, The beni confuse me because it does not show a typical Goshiki character.....but Nice fish

I believe this was a goshiki/goshiki cross with selection for goshiki. You kinda end up with goshki that way. And having said that I nursed along a beauty of an ochiba for about a year and a half. It went to Florida for a vacation and started a transformation to a black fish. If this fish of Carolina's came to my house as a promising kindai goshiki I believe it would be old style quickly, subjected to 8.2 and 200ppm+.

So, Super Kin. Feel like fleshing out the profile a bit? Let us know a bit about yourself.

I don't understand this statement in the context of a tosai and hope you will be kind enough to elaborate, please?

Koromo babies look just like kohaku. nothing grey in the white. The longer it takes to see the AI in the red the better the koi. beieve it or not, some of the highclass stuff does not begin to show reticulation till the end of second year start of the 3rd. I found one , one time in a shipment of kohaku. What gave it away was a blue edge on the sashi of the first step behind the head.

I'm pretty sure mitten is right on about the parentage of this koi.
