i have a 10" Ai Koromo that still looks like a Kohaku.

Good for you....what i write down on this board is not things I've read somewhere else. I share life experience from 30 years. Let's hope your koi goes another year with no Ai showing. While i'm thinking about it, my first impression of that Koromo was it had better white than the other kohanku's it was in with and this is a common occurance with this color variety....
