Fill in the blanks

Can you tell us where the pictures originated? Name of breeder/dealer you got them from would be helpful. I tend to agree with elunned that the picutures got the "one click" photoshop treatment which caused the glaring haze on some of the hi plates, but most of the scales are still pretty distinct. When I said they had been "Heavily Photoshopped" I was speaking in terms of the results (flourescent glare).
Knowing the breeder will at least give us an idea of how likely it is that they came from someone with a proven track record.

Another option for you to consider...

I know you're trying to get the best Koi you can for your pond, and your shipping problems were discussed in your previous thread. Have you checked into Maurice's Koi in GB or perhaps YumeKoi? They would be 2 excellent sources for high quality Koi with fewer long haul shipping issues.

Hi papabear, the kohakus are from Tani fish farm Japan. I will look into the sources you mention as my new (4800 UK Gallon) pond is sitting largely empty

All 4 are excellent fish, if they are not photoshopped. Number 1 is the clear winner in my eyes, check the tail joint and the color stop near the tail. They all have excellent bodies, red and white. That's pretty much what Kohakus are known for. Who is selling them and (if you can) about what is the price range?
