| I had no intention of showing when I got into this hobby. I swore up and down, no show koi for me but now I am really drawn into the fascination of it all. As a youth I showed horses and dogs so why not koi? It is very possible that I may start out with some young fish next year for the Portland show. I did purchase my first Japanese bred koi recently which was a step in the right direction. Fortunately I have many mentors to help if I choose to go that route. I have only been visiting these forums since August but I have noticed this one seems to draw the very serious and experienced hobbyists. Lucky for me as I am getting great advise.
