Let's take a crack at this. Person in the question is Mr. Eizaburo Hoshino. He is known in Nishikigoi History as the one who bred Sanke.

Very good! Yes, you are correct he is credited with breeding the 1st taisho sanke. There were tricolored koi before this but they were unrefined and we would call them specklegoi today.

Now for a bonus round. What two types of koi did he bred to produce the first taisho sanke?

For special extra credit what other type of koi is he creditd with developing?
