Please help me evaluate these.

Hi everyone,

This is my 2nd thread and I could really use some help. I purchased several young fish in Dec. and am planning on putting a few pics up every few days to get your opinions on the fish I have selected. All of these fish are about 8" and are from Ogata.

Have fun and thanks,

Gary

Well...a few things. The first one is a kin kikokuryu..looks nice. Hard to evaluate that type because the sumi is variable. Hopefully wont turn all black. The doitsu ochiba ...just not enough pattern. Will look sparse as an adult. The ginrin showa is hard to tell....may have too much sumi on the head. A good showa should have all 3 colors on the head...hard to tell from the photo.

Each has issues; but, of course, it would not have been sold as tosai in the Fall if there wasn't an issue. All will give you pleasure while they are small. As they grow, the Showa has the potential to remain a source of enjoyable viewing.

I have to level up to see which tosai fits their variety. I think the Beni Kikokuryu long term looks more interesting.
